I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food was excellent. This will be my Steak House of choice in the Nashville area.
This past weekend, I delivered my son for his third year at Vanderbilt University. Although I'd been to Nashville a good half dozen times over the past three years, I never managed to make it to Jimmy Kelly's. My son, however, had enjoyed that experience a couple of times in the past. He raved it was the best steak house ever. [and a 20 year old male does enjoy his steak].
Last Saturday night the two of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The ambience and food was superb, and the service simply was excellent.
I have decided that my future excursions to Nashville must include a dinner at Jimmy Kelly's, even if I have to adjust my schedule accordingly.
Thanks for keeping a tradition of a fine steak house in a perfect setting alive for the rest of us to enjoy.
Compared to other high end steakhouses, Jimmy Kelly's is a great value. Our server was absolutely fantastic and the decor/atmosphere was great for setting the mood for date night.
Jimmy Kelly's lets you step back to a Nashville of a time long passed. The decor, service and food are much better than more expensive offerings in Nashville. Wine specials for the evening were a nice surprise. Service was so personal and enjoyable-everyone had a great sense of humor and knowledge of the restaurants' history.
The Rehearsal Dinner for my son and my new daughter-in-law at Jimmy Kelly's was absolutely above and beyond my highest expectations! The food, the service, the atmosphere all were wonderful and we had a fabulous time. Everyone commented on the excellent food and service and what a wonderful time they had.
Thank you so much and thank the excellent wait staff for making our rehearsal dinner a huge success! My son thanked me for an amazing night, but I cannot take the credit as Jimmy Kelly's did all the hard work!
I will certainly recommend Jimmy Kelly's to anyone I know coming to Nashville to eat or who might need a beautiful area to dine in.

We've been having important family occasions at Jimmy Kelly's since the l950's, so I can tell you the experience is as old Nashville as it gets. Fine food, fine company, excellent martinis.
Though I'm a native Nashvillian, I'd never been to Jimmy Kelly's during my 38 years until recently. I took some clients there that were in town and looking for a good steak house. I had heard that Jimmy Kelly's was a nice place and had a unique atmosphere/vibe and that it would surely impress. I'll have to say that the experience will likely make me revisit them again. The service was impeccable and the food was very good. If I were a fan of steak houses in general, I'd say the food was excellent, but I normally trend towards lighter cuisine, so I can't give it an excellent rating. However, the New York Strip that I had was a fantastic cut of meat and was prepared just as I requested - medium rare. Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere, and all said that they'd like to return again in the future. If you are in town and need a place to take clients that like red meat, I'd say you'd be doing pretty well to choose Jimmy Kelly's. They also have a smattering of seafood and poultry, so red meat isn't the only option, though it is their specialty. In fact, I'd chose it over several of the other more highly though of and much more expensive steak houses based on quality of the food. I won't name any names, but you know the one's where you go as much to be seen and to say you went there, as for any other reason. The food at Jimmy Kelly's is a bit better and the service and atmosphere are on par with those establishments.Enjoy!
The evening could not have gone any better. The players really enjoyed the meal. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the ambience was flawless. Look forward to dining there in the future.
The help was A++ like you are dining in someone's royal castle! The place is very old and has this great feeling of history.
Our server was terrific. The food was simple and delicious. The corn cakes went fast and we had another round before the main course arrived. With so many fancy restaurants these days covering your entree with extravagant ingredients, its refreshing to go to a white-tableclothed establishment and get a basic, perfectly-cooked, delicious filet.
What a great place! Service was friendly and funny which made for a great meal. The food was exceptional, best corn cakes ever.

I am a high school basketball coach and Jimmy Kelly's is the place we choose to have the final dinner for our seniors as part of our team. This has been our tradition every year for Eagle basketball culminating with a photo taken at Jimmy Kelly's and displayed in our locker room. We KNOW Jimmy Kelly's will never let us down when it comes to an unforgettable dining experience.

I have been eating at Jimmy Kelly's since the 1960s. By far it is the best Steakhouse in Middle Tennessee! The service is always excellent and I could literally eat nothing but the hoecakes; but then I'd have no room for one of their fabulous steaks!
My Father took me to Jimmy Kelly's over 20 years ago. There is something special about the ambiance and of course the High Quality of food that is served. It is still His Favorite and also mine. I come every chance we get.

The bleu cheese stuffed filet wrapped in bacon was excellent along with the twice baked potato.
You don't find service like this anymore! Our waiters
were so attentive and patient with our group of 14. We hadn't
been to Jimmy Kelly's in over 15 years and we will definitely

Visited your wonderful restaurant last night and wanted
to tell you how much we enjoyed our dinner. Frank provided
exceptional service that was topped by excellent food. I ordered
the cheeseburger and it was by far the best I have had. Thanks

What a pleasant experience. This is an old school first
class place. The little things like the valet parking, and
the white coated waiters. The waiter was fantastic, and you
could tell has probably worked there for many years. He was
on top of all our needs, and had a wonderful attitude. The
food was delicious. I ate at Morton's the week before and paid
$100 more for the meal there, and I don't think it was any
better than the meal I rec'd here, for much less money. I will
definitely come back. Great for entertaining customers.

I grew up in the restaurant business – my family
is Greek, and that’s apparently what we do – come
to America and open eateries. There are a lot of fine dining
places in Nashville, to be sure, but the rat-packish feel,
attention to detail and talented execution that once prevailed
among the truly high end places seems to have become nearly
extinct – except at Jimmy Kelly’s. Our server,
Arthur, was knowledgeable, succinct, and pleasant, but you
know what? That’s expected with upscale dining. What’s
not expected, however, is a server that’s also able to
gauge the vibe of his charges, and add to the evening with
proper conversation. Arthur made us feel very welcome, he made
us laugh more than once, and he was excellent at knowing when
to gracefully glide in to place or remove things at the table.
The food was fabulous – we had a shrimp cocktail, shared
the Chateaubriand, and each had a desert and drinks. The meat
was perfect, everything was oldschool (Particularly my bloody
mary – no fru fru pickles or other accoutrements - just
a good old fashioned bloody mary), the portions were large,
and the bill – surprisingly – was less than I’d
expected. All in all, we’re really looking forward to
another date night at Jimmy Kelly’s.

I recently hosted our directors, senior staff and their
spouses to dinner at Jimmy Kelly's in Nashville, TN. Working
with Angie to set up the reservation was a breeze. When our
party arrived at the site, we were greeted my restaurant owner
Mike Kelly and welcomed as if we had just arrived at his home.
Mike shared the history of the restaurant, and some of his
favorite stories, with our group. The arrival of the corn cakes
(think hot water cornbread) invoked another story, and a great
many sighs of joy from our diners. One of our party is a cattleman
by profession, and he stated that this was the best steak he
had ever eaten. Days later, my group is still talking about
the atmosphere, the food and the experience. Every year we
host this group in a different city, and after 12 years of
searching for the very best of the best, this was it!
We will be in Nashville the 28th-30th. Me for medical
check ups as ususal unfortunatly but having a relaxing peaceful
dinner at Jimmy's is always a major treat. We always ask for
King Arthur as our friend & helper. He is so nice and accomodating,
we consider him to be a friend. Service is great and the food
is superb not to mention the relaxing atmosphere.

Arthur was our Server. Arthur was very patient and accommodating.

manner. The food was WONDERFUL. We enjoyed our Cocktails and
Wine, Crab Cakes, Salads, Twice Baked Potatoes, Filets and
especially the Corn Cakes. This was the best food we had in
TN.

the food. The Corn Cakes were new to us. We enjoyed our conversation

dinner at Jimmie Kelly's.
We were very pleased with every detail of our experience at
your restaurant. From the cheerful and helpful reservations
person, the assistance provide to us by the security guard
in entering and later in leaving, the gracious greeting and
assistance to a main dining room table by the Maitre D/Host,
our waiter Frankie was superb i.e. everything a 4-Star waiter
should be, the cocktails and wine from the bar were correct
and timely served, the shrimp cocktail appetizer was delicious,
the salad was fresh and tasty, the chateaubriand entrée was
par excellence and worthy of our special occasion, and finally
the coffee and excellent dessert sampler provided by Jimmie
Kelly's completed the finest dining experience I have had anywhere
at anytime.
